SouthPark invites local families and friends to gather on the lawn at Symphony Park to enjoy some sizzling summer entertainment! Every Friday from August 7 – 28, the mall will host Movies Under The Stars, a free night of movies and more, where shoppers can enjoy featured flicks – themed for families, dates and girls’ nights out – under the stars on an impressive 42-foot screen.

To jump-start the night, pre-event activities will entertain the crowd from 6 – 9 p.m. including a live band. Tasty concessions and cold drinks will be available for purchase all night. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets!

Charlotte Irish Summer Festival

The third annual Charlotte Irish Summer Festival is taking place August 14th & 15th, in Uptown Charlotte. The kickoff party for the Irish festival will include an Uptown Charlotte Bar crawl ending at Charlotte's famous Irish pub Connolly's with several live bands scheduled. Saturday events include fun for the whole family, everything from live music and dance, Irish Arts & Crafts, "wee folk" kids corner, spud eating challenge, cornhole, gaelic games exhibition and hopefully a world record irish dancing attempt. This free event raises money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is not to be missed!!!!

This year's family fun night will be themed around the museum's newest exhibit, Charlotte Stories: Our Collections, Your Treasures.

Come to the Charlotte Museum of History for a pizza dinner and meet Princess Simone Simplicita of Musea and renowned museologist professor Dr. Carolina Jones. They will be here to discuss a stunning gift donated to the Museum of Musea History by the Princess. Families will assist with the process of research and documentation of a new gift. Children will also help celebrate the Princess’s childhood companion, the donkey Simple Simon.

Next on the evening adventures is the Priceless Treasures Tour. Children will join the White Glove Brigade in investigating artifacts from the museum’s collection, learning how to preserve them so that future generations can enjoy them.

The evening of fun will conclude with popcorn and a showing of the movie National Treasure.

$5 for children ages 6-12; $7 for Adult members; $10 for Adult non-members.

Advanced reservations are required.
